Second Working Meeting of the ESHER GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The Second Working Meeting of the National Scientific Infrastructure ENERGY STORAGE AND HYDROGEN ENERGETICS General Assembly was held on May 9, 2019, in Sofia.

The Meeting was organized as common event of the Executive and Advisory Board members with the participation of Prof. Antonino Arico (CNR, Italy), Prof. Olaf Jedicke (Institute for Nuclear and Energy Technologies, Germany), Prof. Planem Atanassov (University of California, Irvine, USA). As specialists with high experience in the field of innovative energy technologies and in establishment and management of modern infrastructure centers, the foreign Advisory Board members exchanged their expertise with the Bulgarian colleagues.

The participants were welcomed by Prof. Evelina Slavcheva, Director of IEES-BAS and Mr. Angel Popov Deputy Minister of Bulgarian Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications. ESHER Executive Board members presented the project - its mission, goals, ambitions and current activities.

The event was attended by 60 people (representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education, Sofia Municipality, Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance, Sustainable Energy Development Agency, The Bulgarian Hydrogen Society, "Angel Kanchev" University of Ruse, The University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski”, Technical University – Sofia, industrial associations and many companies.

A day before the official opening of the Second Working Meeting, Prof. Konsrtantin Petrov (IEES-BAS) gave an open academic lecture "Electrochemical Practice" for the young scientists.

The Second Working Meeting of the ESHER General Assembly is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
